中国卧龙大熊猫博物馆是我国唯一的以展示单一物种国宝大熊猫的博物馆。该馆由原国务院总理朱鎔基题 写馆名,分六部分向人们展示大熊猫的生态环境、历史演变、自身特性、伴生动物,以及大熊猫的人工饲养、繁育、保护研究和自然保护区管理事业的发展,国际组织与机构和热爱大熊猫友人的支持,开展大熊猫国际合作研究等所取得的成就,揭示大熊猫的奥秘。 中国卧龙大熊猫博物馆是根据原全国人大常委会乔石委员长1995年10月10日到卧龙视察时的提议—— “要充分利用卧龙的资源优势,建立一个生态教育培训中心,大力开展生态宣传教育”而兴建的。1999年9月7日,国务院总理朱镕基视察卧龙后欣然为博物馆题写了馆名。
博物馆由中国国家林业局投资,1999年10月28日开工建设;2001年 5 月1日开始进行内展陈列工作,2001年11月15日竣工交付使用。 总建筑面积4074平方米,总投资约1710万元。于2002年5月22日正式开馆。
博物馆展出部分由序厅、环境厅、演化厅、中厅、生活厅、保护与发展厅六个展厅构成,展出面积2000多平方米,展出动物标本221种420件,植物标本85种86件,与大熊猫相关的实物展品200多件。全面系统地介绍了大熊猫的生活环境、生活习性、演化历史和世界人民对大熊猫的热爱与关心。它是目前国内唯一以单一生物物种为主建立的博物馆。
Wolong Giant Panda Museum of China “Wolong Giant Panda Museum of China”mainly shows the visitors about the history, current condition and future of the giant panda. Environment, evolution, also other animals around them and themselves; the raising, breeding and protection research and the development of Wolong Nature Reserve; the support of the panda fans and some international organization, as well as the cooperation with some other research centers. All of this guides the visitors to discover the secret of the life of the giant panda.
On Oct 10th, 1995, Qiao Shi visited Wolong and comments us to create a museum, he said: use the resources of Wolong, to set up a Eco-education training center, to try our best to do more about eco- education”, on Sep 7th, 1999, the Prime Minister Zhu Rongji visited Wolong, and inscribed the name for Wolong Giant Panda Museum of China for us.
With the support of the State Forestry Administration, on Oct 28th, 1999, the museum construction started, on May 1st, 2001, it started to decorate, on Nov 15th, 2001, and it was finished. The museum covers 4047 m2; the total investment was 17,100,000 RMB. And it opened to tourists on May 22nd, 2002.
The museum contains the following: An intrduction hall, an enviornment hall, Evolution hall, Mid-hall, Life hall, and a Protection and Development hall, the exhibition area is more than 2,000 m2, with 420 animal samples in 220 species, 86 plates’ samples in 85 species, there are more than 200 samples relating with the giant panda. It is the only museum in China which exhibits mainly one species.
